Skoda Summit: “Unveiling The Compact SUV Adventure” After successfully introducing formidable and high-end vehicles such as the Kushaq and Slavia, Skoda is now gearing up to unveil its latest offering, the Skoda Compact SUV, in the Indian market. Expected to hit Indian roads by the first half of 2025, this all-new compact SUV marks the company’s inaugural entry into this vehicle category within the country.
While specific details regarding the design, pricing, and features of this brand-new SUV remain scarce, based on Skoda’s track record, it’s anticipated to embody a premium aesthetic and robust performance. With its launch, Skoda aims to further solidify its presence in the Indian automotive market, catering to discerning consumers seeking both style and substance in their vehicles.
Skoda has confirmed that the compact SUV will be equipped with the brand’s acclaimed 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, boasting 110 horsepower and 178 Newton-meters of torque.
This engine is anticipated to offer robust acceleration and impressive fuel efficiency. Additionally, the Skoda compact SUV is expected to come with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This compact SUV will accommodate only one engine option while other rivals are providing at least two engine options which is quite dispiriting for the Skoda Audience.
The available information regarding the dimensions of this car is limited, but according to expert analysis and considering Skoda’s track record with previous car designs, it appears that the overall length of the vehicle will need to be kept under 4 meters to qualify for the sub-4-meter tax benefit. Projections suggest that its wheelbase will likely measure 2,566mm, which is 85mm shorter than the Kushaq’s wheelbase of 2,651mm.
It is anticipated that this compact SUV will be slightly larger in size compared to other compact SUVs currently available in the market. With regard to width, the previous Kushaq model had a measurement of 1760mm, indicating that the compact SUV is expected to adhere to similar width specifications. Furthermore, the compact SUV is expected to come equipped with smaller wheels in comparison to the Kushaq, which currently offers alloy options ranging from 16 inches to 17 inches in diameter. More advanced features might include a 10-inch infotainment system, electric sunroof, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster, etc.
